Featured Guest: Dr. Curt Dearing
“Pharmaceuticals often require two recoveries- one from the disease and the other from the side effects. Nutraceuticals offer an alternative path, where healing brings side benefits.
”
–Curt Dearing, “The Green Pharmacist”
With more than 30 years of experience as a Clinical Pharmacist, Curt Dearing, Pharm.D., specializes in helping patients navigate medication-related problems and exploring safer, more effective treatment options. A graduate of Mercer University’s Doctor of Pharmacy program with a specialized residency in drug information, Dr. Dearing has dedicated his career to working directly with patients through clinics focused on diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, anticoagulation, and Medication Therapy Management.
Over the course of three decades, he has reviewed countless patient charts and medication lists, uncovering drug-related problems ranging from interactions, toxicity, and side effects to the widespread issue of polypharmacy—patients taking too many unnecessary medications. One out of every twenty hospital admissions is due to an adverse drug effect, making safe, thoughtful management of therapy a priority in every case.
Dr. Dearing takes an integrative approach—bridging both pharmaceutical and nutraceutical options—to ensure the best outcomes. His commitment extends beyond symptom management, always asking: Is this treatment effective? Is there a better or safer alternative? Are we addressing the root cause or just applying a band-aid?
Known for his truth-seeking, patient-first philosophy, Curt treats every patient with the same care as he would his own family. Guided by the belief that healing should prioritize safety, effectiveness, and whole-person wellness, he champions balancing modern medicine with natural approaches when appropriate.
